Stage Three preview

After Sunday's foray into the mountains, the sprinters get their chance on stage three of the Tour de France as the peloton heads from Nice to Sisteron.

With three category 3 climbs, the 198km route has plenty of lumps and bumps but the second half of the stage features a large downhill section, limiting the chances of a breakaway succeeding.

He may not have had an easy day on Sunday but with limited sprint chances in this year's Tour, Lotto-Soudal's Caleb Ewan will hope to strike.

The Australian won three stages last year and has form after a recent win at the Tour of Wallonie.

Sam Bennett also took a stage in that race but doubts linger after Deceuninck–Quick-Step's sprint train disintegrated when trying to set him up on Saturday.

UAE Team Emirates's Alexander Kristoff was the winner but his admirable efforts in defending the yellow jersey may have stung his legs and of those in contention, Ewan looks the one to beat.
