Johanna Konta is 18-1 to win the Wimbledon women's singles after the British number one came through a tough three-set clash with 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens to advance to the fourth round.

Konta, who will play two-time champion Petra Kvitova on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals, struggled in the early stages against Stephens before losing the opening set 6-3.

The Brit was then forced to dig deep to save break points at 2-2 in the second set but rallied to level the match before winning a deciding set 6-1. She is 6-4 to beat Kvitova.

While Konta was winning, Andy Murray's men's doubles adventure came to an end as he and partner Pierre-Hugues Herbert were beaten in four sets by Nikola Mektic and Franco Skugor but he is still in with a chance of mixed glory.

Murray is partnering seven-time champion Serena Williams and the dream team quickly announced themselves as title contenders as they swept aside Andreas Mies and Alexa Guarachi 6-4 6-1.

William Hill quoted the pair at 4-1 to bag the mixed crown before the tournament but their odds look sure to shorten considerably on the back of a strong first-round performance.

In the men's singles draw, both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal both cruised into the second week with 3-0 victories over Lucas Pouille and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and both will have eyes on claiming Novak Djokovic's crown.

The super Serb is 8-11 to take the men's title, with Federer a best-priced 4-1 and the ultra-impressive Nadal no bigger than 9-2 with Milos Raonic the closest in the betting at 22-1.

In the women's action, world number one Ashleigh Barty crushed Britain's Harriet Dart 6-1 6-1 on Centre Court while Williams also advanced with a victory over Julia Goerges.

Barty is 5-2 to win back-to-back Grand Slams with Karolina Pliskova at 10-3. Williams is a 15-2 shot while Simona Halep and Petra Kvitova are both available at single-figure prices.

Teenage starlet Cori Gauff, who saved two match points before mounting a remarkable comeback against Polona Hercog on Friday, is out to 20-1 with Coral and Ladbrokes although some firms still quote the 15-year-old at as short as 9-1.
