These two have made a mess of the opening five rounds of the Betfred Super League and there could be an air of desperation around this fixture at Headingley on Friday.

For Wakey, it's played five lost five, while Leeds's only victory from their opening quintet was a hard-fought 28-22 win over Trinity in round one.

Injuries have hit hard for the Rhinos since then and they find themselves down in ninth, just two places above Trinity.

Although it's still too early to talk of a relegation scrap for Leeds, it doesn't come as a surprise to see Wakefield wallowing in the doldrums.

Their small squad is often stretched but they have shown in patches that they can mix it with the best.

Trinity have won three of their last six meetings with Leeds and they limited Hull FC to just a six-point winning margin at the end of April.

There have been hammerings by St Helens and Wigan, while Catalans beat them 38-18 last time out, but Leeds are nowhere near that level at the moment and Trinity should stay competitive in this contest.

A win at 11-5 may be beyond them, while Leeds look way too short at 2-5, but an eight-point start on the handicap looks a decent way to support the visitors.
