The scrap for survival at the foot of the Betfred Super League couldn’t be more congested with several clubs embroiled in a game of musical chairs.

Leeds, Hull KR and London have all found themselves propping the pile in recent weeks and current cellar-dwellers London are 5-4 favourites to slip go through the trap door to the Championship.

The bottom four teams are separated only by points difference with the Rhinos, Robins and Broncos joined in the mix by hapless Huddersfield.

The Giants have plummeted down the table after a run of successive defeats and Simon Woolford’s side are 7-2 to go down after kicking off the campaign as 33-1 shots.

Those odds will contract further if Huddersfield are beaten at Salford.

The visitors are 21-10 underdogs at the AJ Bell Stadium and will be hoping for a similar mid-summer revival to last year when they won four out of four in July with victories over Hull, Wigan, Castleford and Wakefield.

The Red Devils have surpassed pre-season expectations and were in the playoff places prior to last weekend’s loss at Wigan.

Australian playmaker Jackson Hastings has been their star turn and although he’s set to join Wigan for 2020, it would be a surprise if his impressive level of form dropped off.

Hastings is 7-2 favourite to be named man-of-the-match and his team are tasked with conceding an eight-point start on the handicap.

When Salford win, they tend to win big so at bigger prices, it may be worth chancing that the hosts can get the job done by a wider margin.

Salford defeated Huddersfield by 20 points at the John Smith’s Stadium in February and eight of their nine league victories have come by double-figure margins.

Backing the Red Devils to prevail by between 11 and 30 points looks the way to go.

Impressive full-back Niall Evalds bagged a hat-trick in the first clash with the Giants and is 25-1 to repeat the feat.

Salford’s 18-try top-scorer has notched in 13 of his 21 outings this season so looks worth supporting at 11-10 to add to his tally.
