The Premier League is just over a week away from its return and with it will come Fantasy Premier League.

Played by over nine million people, fantasy football has become a mainstay for Premier League fans around the globe.

Here are four underrated players who could have a major say in the new campaign.

Goalkeeper - Bernd Leno £4.5 million

Selected by just 0.6 per cent of players in this year's Fantasy Premier League, it's fair to say Bernd Leno has flown under the radar.

However, the Arsenal goalkeeper is reportedly nearing a move to Fulham and scored 131 points just two seasons ago. If the move is completed quickly, the German could also benefit from a forgiving early fixture list as just one of the Cottagers' first nine matches has a difficulty rating of over three.

Defender - Sven Botman £4.5 million

At just £4.5 million, Newcastle's new signing Sven Botman stands out as a value defensive option. However, less than 3.5 per cent of players have snapped up the Toon's new recruit so he could prove to be an interesting differential.

The Dutchman weighed in with three goals and an assist in 25 games for Lille in Ligue 1 last season and slots into a new-look Newcastle back four which should be a different proposition in their first full season under Eddie Howe.

Midfielder - Jack Grealish £7 million

After an indifferent first season at Manchester City, Jack Grealish has been largely ignored by the FPL community with just 5.2 per cent of players selecting the England international.

However, the creative midfielder racked up 149 and 135 points in the two seasons before his Eithad switch and could benefit from the signing of Erling Haaland. Grealish assisted Haaland's first goal in a City shirt and looks likely to link-up well with the Norwegian.

Forward - Brennan Johnson £6 million

Nottingham Forest have splashed the cash after making it back to the Premier League for the first time since 1999 but their most important player could be youngster Brennan Johnson.

The 21-year-old scored 16 goals and picked up ten assists in the Championship last term, and if transferring some of that form to the top flight he could prove a snip at £6 million.

Johnson is also owned by less than three per cent of all managers so looks like an interesting differential possibility.
