Lewis Hamilton is 10-11 from 4-5 for the world title after finishing fifth in a crazy Azerbaijan Grand Prix won by 66-1 shot Daniel Ricciardo.

Hamilton had been 4-11 favourite when starting from pole and was 1-5 in-play when the race was red-flagged after a crash between Force India pair Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon.

His title rival Sebastian Vettel was handed a ten-second stop-go penalty for dangerous driving after hitting Hamilton as they followed the safety car, but the Mercedes driver ended up behind Vettel after having to stop to fix a loose headrest.

That handed victory to Ricciardo, who had been 16-1 in the red-flag period, while Valtteri Bottas, who had been a lap down after colliding with Kimi Raikkonen on the first lap, mugged rookie Lance Stroll on the line to nick second.

Stroll had been a 1,000-1 shot and 66-1 to make the podium.

Hamilton drifted in the title betting after Vettel gained two points on him in the standings.

The Ferrari driver is 11-10 from 11-8, while Bottas is 40-1 from 50-1.

Hamilton is 10-11 favourite for the next race in Austria on July 9 with Vettel a 9-4 shot.
