Liverpool may well follow up their EFL Cup triumph over Chelsea with another Wembley win over the Blues in the FA Cup final, but their hopes of landing an unprecedented quadruple look to be fading fast after Manchester City’s 5-1 rout of Wolves in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Jurgen Klopp’s history chasers are now 18-1 to claim all four trophies this season, but they have only two remaining Premier League games with which to bridge a three-point gap and make up a goal difference deficit of seven.

Liverpool had been as big as 1500-1 with bet365 for the quadruple after a 3-3 draw with Brentford on September 25 and were still available at 100-1 after winning the EFL Cup final against Chelsea on penalties.

But the Reds went as short as 5-1 with the same firm for a four-trophy haul on May 4 after Real Madrid fought back from the brink of elimination to defeat Man City in the Champions League semi-finals.

Since then, Liverpool have faltered in the Premier League - they were frustrated in a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham last Saturday, a result which provided City with some much-needed breathing space at the top.

Klopp's boys are now 11-1 with bet365 to reel in the Citizens, who are 1-20 for a successful title defence, odds which suggest the Merseyside club may now have to settle for the treble.

The Reds are 1-2 to lift the FA Cup in the capital and are 8-15 to get the better of City and Chelsea’s conquerors Real in the Champions League final at the Stade de France later this month.

It is 5-4 that Liverpool add the FA Cup and Champions League double to their EFL Cup crown, while bookmakers are going 13-2 that the Reds fail to win another trophy this season.
