Sky Bet Championship favourites Leeds have been handed a tough assignment away to Bristol City in the opening round of matches for the 2019-20 season.

Leeds, who have been backed to 11-2 from 8-1 in the outright market, are 8-5 to triumph at Ashton Gate on Sunday August 4. The EFL season begins two days earlier with promoted Luton taking on Jonathan Woodgate's Middlesbrough.

League One market leaders Sunderland tackle Oxford in the opening round of matches and are odds-on to make a winning start, although relegated Ipswich have a tricky opener at Burton.

The Tractor Boys then host Sunderland before travelling to Peterborough in a difficult spell for Paul Lambert's outfit.

Sky Sports have selected Football League newcomers Salford's home match against Stevenage for live coverage on the opening weekend.

Salford, backed by Manchester United's famous Class of 92, are 8-1 favourites to win the title and are 5-6 to see off Stevenage.
