Monterrey and Al Hilal could produce an exciting third-place playoff at the Club World Cup.

Monterrey were the better side for much of their semi-final against Liverpool and could count themselves unlucky that they didn't take the European champions to extra-time.

Al Hilal were ahead against Flamengo before a second-half collapse in a 3-1 defeat which saw former Watford midfielder Andre Carrillo sent off.

The Saudi side are favourites but Monterrey can build on their decent showing in the semi-final to claim the consolation prize.

Monterrey finished third in their last appearance in the Club World Cup in 2012. Having lost to Chelsea in the semi-final, they beat Al Ahly 2-0 in the playoff.
