Tuesday betting preview

The final round of Afcon group games take place this week and there is everything to play for in Groups B and C on Tuesday. Only one of the eight teams on show is unable to qualify for the last 16 so it looks set to be a gripping set of encounters.

Malawi v Senegal

Sky Sports Football, 4pm Tuesday

Ante-post Afcon favourites Senegal have made heavy weather of progression from Group B, netting only once courtesy of a 97th-minute Sadio Mane penalty in their opener.

Given their rivals for first place Guinea, who also have four points, take on pointless Zimbabwe in their final group outing, Senegal will probably need to better the group leader's result to secure top spot.

The majority of opponents Malawi's squad play in their domestic competition and the star-studded Senegalese should have far too much quality for them.

Senegal won 2-1 when these sides met in July and backing over 2.5 goals could be the best strategy again with the pressure on Senegal to rack up the goals.

Zimbabwe v Guinea

Sky Sports Premier League, 4pm Tuesday

Zimbabwe cannot progress to the knockout stage after losing both of their group matches, but they dominated against Malawi and were beaten only by an injury-time penalty against Senegal so will want to put up some resistance against Guinea.

Top spot is on the line for Guinea and while Naby Keita’s side are likely to come out on top, they are priced accordingly.

Gabon v Morocco

Sky Sports Premier League, 7pm Tuesday

Morocco’s title credentials were predicated on their strong defence and two wins to nil over Ghana and Comoros have further bolstered their claims.

Centre-back Romain Saiss has been impressive for Wolves this season and has led his nation with similar aplomb in Cameroon.

The Atlas Lions have given up just two shots on target so far and face a Gabon side weakened by the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has flown home from the tournament with a heart issue.

The Panthers have managed four points without their talisman but look likely to be shut out against one of the competition's meanest defences.

Ghana v Comoros

Sky Sports Mix, 7pm Tuesday

The concession of two late goals mean that Ghana have just one point heading into their final group game against minnows Comoros, who could still progress with a shock win.

The Black Stars should be too strong but they will need to improve on their efforts so far to worry any of their title rivals.
