Madagascar v Tunisia
8pm

All good things must come to an end but it’s questionable whether Tunisia are good enough to bring a halt to Madagascar’s dream run to the last eight of the Africa Cup of Nations.

They are resilient enough, for sure. Tunisia have drawn all four of their matches. But good enough is debatable. They have looked impotent and have relied on their experienced defence to make it to the quarter-finals.

The Tunisians are a contrast to debutants Madagascar, who have been a breath of fresh air in Egypt, where a 2-0 win over Nigeria was trumped by a shootout success against DR Congo in the last 16.

They are ranked 108th in the world but blessed with lashings of self-belief and against a team who will offer precious little in the final third, take the underdogs to go through.

Recommendation
Madagascar to qualify
1pt 23-10 Betfair

Back Madagascar to qualify with Paddy Power

Key stat
Tunisia have drawn four matches in a row.

Ivory Coast v Algeria
5pm

The threat of mighty Ivory Coast is an obvious one but the bottom line is that Algeria have looked like the team of the tournament and get another vote of confidence.

We’ve seen flashes of class from the Elephants with Wilfried Zaha finally starting to warm the task.

But we’ve seen rock-solid consistency from Algeria, who go into this last-eight showdown after four wins and four clean sheets.

Riyad Mahrez is sparkling for a side who have already beaten Senegal and were clinical in a 3-0 win against Guinea in the last 16.

Djamel Belmadi’s men have been in good form for a couple of years now and look to be peaking perfectly.

Recommendation
Algeria
1pt 6-5 Betfair, Coral, Paddy Power

Back Algeria to qualify with Hills

Key stat
Algeria are unbeaten in their last ten internationals.
