Group D resumes in the Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday with Nigeria able to seal a spot in the knockout stage with victory over Sudan and Mo Salah's Egypt hoping to get their first points on the board when they play Guinea-Bissau.

The late managerial switch which saw Augustine Eguavoen parachuted in solely for this tournament left many thinking Nigeria could have a tough time at the Africa Cup of Nations.

But they started on the front foot with victory over Egypt in their first game courtesy of Kelechi Iheanacho's first-half strike.

And although it was a narrow victory, it was thoroughly deserved with Nigeria dominating the match and winning the shot count 15-4 in Garoua.

Exciting youngster Samuel Chukwueze managed to start the first game despite concerns surrounding his availability and he makes up a key core of players along with Wilfried Ndidi and captain William Troost-Ekong, who looks sharper playing for his country than for Watford.

They should have no issues against Sudan, who were on the back foot for much of their game with Guinea-Bissau and have drawn blanks in each of their last four matches.

Back Nigeria at -1 goal on the handicap where the bet collects if they win by two or more goals.

Guinea-Bissau v Egypt

Egypt deserved to lose their opener with Nigeria and more frustration could be in store for the Pharoahs when they take on Guinea-Bissau.

They were limited to only two shots on target in that first match and offered little attacking threat.

Salah is their obvious talisman but has not netted for his country since their demolition of Comoros in March last year.

Guinea-Bissau will be looking to box smart in this one with a deep defensive line expected and the fact each of their last three matches have finished 0-0 suggests this could be another slow burner.

Egypt may be able to break through late on in the contest but backing under 0.5 first-half goals could be a smart move.
