Egypt v Zimbabwe betting preview, tips & TV channel
Take hosts to get off to a winning start
Egypt v Zimbabwe
Eurosport, 9pm Friday
The last time Egypt hosted the Africa Cup of Nations in 2006 they won the trophy and the tournament favourites can start their 2019 campaign by beating Zimbabwe in Cairo.
Egypt boss Javier Aguirre has some defensive deficiencies to work on during the competition after his side conceded to Niger and Eswatini and they could be breached in the opener.
Zimbabwe notched nine goals to finish top of their qualifying group but they should get no more than a consolation goal in the capital.
The hosts should still have too much in the final third with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, supported by Trezeguet and Marwan Mohsen, able to steer them to maximum points.
Recommendation
Egypt to win & both teams to score
1pt 19-4 Coral, Ladbrokes
Key stat
Egypt have conceded in four of their last five matches.
