Eurosport 2 from 5pm Monday

Ghana v Tunisia

8pm

Tunisia advanced to the knockout stage despite three successive draws but may be put out of their misery by Ghana, who look the likelier winners of the round-of-16 clash in Ismailia.

Group E looked a reasonably soft section for Tunisia, who would have expected to challenge Mali for supremacy.

The north Africans' 1-1 draw with Mali was a reasonable effort but stalemates against Angola (1-1) and Mauritania (0-0) were major disappointments.

There is a lack of firepower with former Sunderland winger Wahbi Khazri offering Tunisia's main goal threat and they look set to be outgunned by Ghana, who have superior attacking options.

The Ayew brothers – Andre and Jordan – have contributed three of Ghana's four goals (one and two respectively) and their match-winning qualities could make the difference.

Recommendation
Ghana
1pt 29-20 general

Key stat
Ghana have lost one of their last 13 fixtures.

Mali v Ivory Coast

5pm

Ivory Coast have high hopes of going all the way at the Africa Cup of Nations but are at serious risk of elimination when facing Mali in Suez.

Bookmakers favour the Ivorians, who clinched qualification for the knockout stages with a 4-1 victory over Namibia last Monday.

However, the markets may have overlooked the strength of Mali, who finished top of Group E.

Mali have not lost a competitive match for 22 months and look a solid side with strength in depth in all areas.

Ivory Coast have the more exciting attacking players but failed their one big test in the group stage – losing 1-0 to Morocco – and may come up short against Mali.

Recommendation
Mali draw no bet
1pt 6-4 bet365, Betfred, Hills

Key stat
Mali are unbeaten in their last 11 competitive matches.
