Preview

The Africa Cup of Nations top goalscorer market is unsurprisingly headed by the Premier League's leading marksman Mo Salah, with his Reds teammate Sadio Mane and Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez not far behind in the betting.

But it is worth noting that none of that talented trio topped the scoring charts in the 2017 and 2019 editions of the tournament.

Nigeria's Odion Ighalo claimed the Golden Boot in Egypt three years ago and it could be worth taking a chance on another outsider in Cameroon with the Ivory Coast's Sebastien Haller fancied to have a productive tournament.

Haller is having a wonderful season with Ajax and leads the Eredivisie scoring charts with 12 goals in 17 matches.

He also became only the second player in history to net in all six group games in the Champions League this season and is the only player to have hit double figures in this season's competition.

If he can emulate that form in Cameroon, where he should receive great service from the likes of Wilfried Zaha, then he will be a serious contender to finish as top scorer.
