Africa Cup of Nations: betting previews, tips & TV details
Benin v Guinea-Bissau | Cameroon v Ghana | Mauritania v Angola
From 3.30pm Saturday
Benin v Guinea-Bissau
Eurosport 2 9pm
Benin have played ten matches at the Africa Cup of Nations without registering a victory but the dreadful run may come to an end when they take on Guinea-Bissau in Ismailia.
The Squirrels were given little chance in their opening Group F game against Ghana but they picked up a 2-2 draw and were left slightly disappointed after playing most of the second half against ten men.
Michel Dussuyer's side had impressed in qualifying – finishing just one point behind Algeria - and should be too strong for Guinea-Bissau, who lost 2-0 to Cameroon in their opening match.
Guinea-Bissau qualified from a weak section, alongside Namibia, but face a step up in class this summer.
Recommendation
Benin
1pt 21-20 general
Key stat
Benin have lost two of their last 12 fixtures.
Cameroon v Ghana
Eurosport 2 6pm
Cameroon arrived at the Africa Cup of Nations a day later than scheduled following a pay dispute over bonus payments but they brushed side Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their opening match and can take total control of Group F by beating Ghana.
Head coach Clarence Seedorf believes the pay row has only served to unite the Cameroon players and, if he is right, the Indomitable Lions could be serious contenders.
Ghana are expected to be the main rivals in the group but have work to do after drawing 2-2 with Benin.
Black Stars defender John Boye was sent off during that game and his subsequent one-game ban is another boost for Cameroon, who look decent value to make it two wins from two.
Recommendation
Cameroon
1pt 9-5 bet365, Betway
Key stat
Cameroon have kept four clean sheets in their last five competitive games.
Mauritania v Angola
Eurosport 1 3.30pm
Angola and Mauritania were in the same Africa Cup of Nations qualifying section, taking 12 points each, and there may not be much to choose between them in Suez.
The markets favour Angola, who started their campaign with creditable 1-1 draw against Tunisia, but they may have overreacted to one result.
Mauritania are making their first appearance at the tournament and looked a little overawed when losing 4-1 to Mali but they are likely to be better for the experience.
The Lions of Chinguetti showed their claws when defeating Madagascar 3-1 in their final warm up contest and are ranked 103rd by Fifa, 20 places higher than Angola.
Recommendation
Draw
1pt 12-5 Betway
Key stat
Angola have not won any of their last six matches at the Africa Cup of Nations.
