McLaren have parted ways with racing director Eric Boullier on the eve of the British Grand Prix - the team's home event.

Boullier's departure will be followed by a restructuring of their technical department after a disappointing start to the season.

McLaren had high hopes that a switch of engine supplier from Honda to Renault would see them fighting near the front of the grid and Fernando Alonso was a 25-1 chance for the drivers title at the start of the season.

But the car has been way off the pace of the top teams and Alonso's eighth place in Austria last weekend was his first points finish for four races.

Lewis Hamilton is even-money to land the British Grand Prix for the fifth straight season and a record sixth time in all.
