Root 11-4 to relish promotion to number three

England are 4-11 to win their four-match Test series against Pakistan but they have been forced into changes for next week’s first Test at Lord’s.
With James Anderson injured, uncapped bowlers Jake Ball and Toby Roland-Jones are in the 12-man squad while the unavailability of Ben Stokes and Nick Compton means a recall for batsman Gary Ballance.
