Pakistan vs Bangladesh prediction

Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman suffered an injury just two balls into their Champions Trophy opener against New Zealand and that mishap set the tone for the hosts' disappointing campaign.

They face Bangladesh in their third and final Group A match but neither side can qualify for the semi-finals after losing to the Black Caps and India.

The mood among Pakistan supporters may be further dampened by a poor weather forecast in Rawalpindi, where Tuesday's Group B fixture between Australia and South Africa was washed out without a ball bowled.

Pakistan have been rolled over for 260 and 241 in their first two matches while Bangladesh have made meagre totals of 228 all out and 236-9.

Cloudy conditions and rain interruptions could hinder two struggling batting units and backing Bangladesh to have a first-wicket stand of under 22.5 looks the best bet.

Opener Soumya Sarkar and number three Najmul Hossain Shanto were dismissed for ducks inside the first two overs of their defeat to India in Dubai.

Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi produced a devastating inswinging yorker to bowl India opener Rohit Sharma in Sunday's defeat and he should be confident of striking early against Bangladesh.

The last two ODI meetings between the sides produced two comfortable seven-wicket victories for Pakistan, at the 2023 Asia Cup and World Cup, and Bangladesh lost their first wicket with the score on nought in both matches.
