London Spirit v Oval Invincibles preview
London Spirit finished bottom of The Hundred last season but former England captain Eoin Morgan has led his rejuvenated side to five wins out of six in 2022.
The Spirit look solid favourites to continue on their merry way with a Lord's victory against London rivals Oval Invincibles, whose brittle batting line-up struggled in defeats to Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets in their last two outings.
Morgan's men were not entirely convincing with the bat in Wednesday's 17-run success over bottom club Welsh Fire but the arrival of Ben McDermott has certainly pepped up their top order.
The Australia international, batting at number three, has made 30 and 32 in a couple of low-scoring contests against the Rockets and the Fire and he played a key role in Hampshire's T20 Blast triumph this summer.
McDermott finished off the Blast season with scores of 50, four, 30, 61, 31 and 62 in the final against Lancashire and he looks a good bet at 3-1 to top-score for London.
Oval Invincibles Women have made an impressive start to their 2022 campaign, winning three of their first four games including a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over previously unbeaten Birmingham Phoenix last time out.
The Invincibles' squad is so strong that Dane van Niekerk of South Africa, last season's player of the tournament, has failed to make the 11 in two of their four matches and they should be too good for a London Spirit side whose only win this term came against woeful Welsh Fire.
