Close up until lost place quickly over 2f out, soon beaten and eased (jockey said regarding running and riding that his instructions were to try and get the gelding to settle as it is a keen going sort at home and to ask for an effort approximately two furlongs out and to do his best. He added that the gelding fly leapt leaving the stalls and ran keenly to the top of the hill. He further added that he had difficulty steering his mount on the bend and running down into the dip. He explained that he had used his whip down the shoulder but got no response so felt it prudent to keep his mount balanced on the run to the line. jockey said gelding hung badly left throughout.)
