Nicky Henderson will send out runners at Sedgefield for just the second time in his lengthy career, and the five-time champion trainer is hoping to extend a perfect strike-rate at the County Durham venue.

Fix Sun (3.10) and Baiser Interdit (4.10) are the two hopefuls for the Henderson team, both making their first start in Britain for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.

Fix Sun is perhaps the more exciting of the pair, having won impressively on his final outing in France, but Henderson has high expectations for his two chances.

He said: "They are two nice horses who have both been in France and do everything nicely. We wanted to get a run into them for experience before they go off for the summer and it's a good opportunity."

Henderson added of the 510-mile round-trip: "It's a long way, but you won't see me! I can't even remember having a runner there."

Top-level winner Pingshou seeks first chase success at Ffos Las

The 2m7f novice chase (6.30) at Ffos Las has attracted a small but quality field of five, including Grade 1 winner Pingshou, who seeks a first success over fences.

The Colin Tizzard-trained nine-year-old has not quite fired since taking the Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree in 2017 and is making his third outing over fences having been well beaten in Graded races at Cheltenham and Sandown.

Joe Tizzard, assistant and son to trainer Colin, said: "He hasn't shown his best form for a few starts, he is very fragile, but his first run after a long time off at Cheltenham was good and a bit of decent ground will suit him too.

"Hopefully he will show a bit more – he has been crying out for this sort of trip. He has had a couple of runs over fences and has schooled superbly – he just needs to find a bit of his old form. It's a good little race, but he is capable on his day and we're hoping he can bounce back."

Among his rivals is Dead Right, an unexposed sort who has won his last three starts but across a three-year period.

The form of the first of his three wins is especially strong as he defeated subsequent dual top-level winner Next Destination in a Punchestown bumper.

Smart handicap hurdlers Forza Milan, Lovenormoney and Potters Story also feature in the event.

Godolphin youngster looks to end Quiet spell

Godolphin do not tend to send their high-profile juveniles to Beverley, but it's still slightly surprising that the powerful operation have not had a two-year-old winner at the track since 2014. They will be expecting that lean spell to end with Quiet Place (1.50), who shaped well when narrowly pipped on debut.

The Saeed Bin Suroor-trained daughter of Kodiac was beaten by a short head at Yarmouth, and that is by far the best piece of form on offer in this ten-runner race.
