Conditions will favour Beautiful Morning as she bids for second Group 3 win

Beautiful Morning will have the testing conditions she relishes when she bids for a second Group 3 win in Saturday’s Gowran Park feature.

The Jessica Harrington-trained five-year-old, the mount of Colm O'Donoghue, carries a 3lb penalty for her win in the Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh last month, in which she beat subsequent Irish Champion Stakes third Deauville by a nose.

Harrington, who won the race with Jack Naylor three years ago, said: “The ground was a bit quick for Beautiful Morning when she ran in the Blandford Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday and conditions will be much more to her liking this time.

"She’s in good form and so is Rickrack, who also likes it soft. We’re hoping she might earn some black type.”

The ground, which was described as heavy, soft to heavy in places on Friday, will also favour the Dermot Weld-trained Jaega, who won a maiden on heavy on her debut at Leopardstown early in the season.

“Jaega has had a nice summer break and I expect her to come back with a good run," said the trainer. "She goes well on testing ground and has already been Group 3-placed.”

Snowy Winter will be attempting to become the first British-trained winner of the race since Mango Diva scored for Sir Michael Stoute five years ago.

Trainer Archie Watson said: “She won a Listed race over the course and distance two starts ago and then ran a very good race in a stronger Group 3 at the Curragh last time, when she finished fifth.

"I’d hope she goes there with a good chance and I wouldn’t be overly concerned about the ground.”

Aidan O'Brien, who runs three in the race, said: "Broadway wasn't beaten far in the Blandford Stakes on Sunday and we're hoping for a good run.

"Hence is going back up in distance after dropping to seven furlongs at Doncaster last time, while we're hoping first-time blinkers might help Erin and give her a chance of getting some black type."

Jim Bolger's Panstarr, a proven performer on testing ground, renews rivalry with Ship Of Dreams, who is blinkered for the first time having been beaten a neck by the Bolger filly in a Listed event at the Listowel festival.

Ship Of Dreams's trainer Joseph O'Brien is also represented by Julienne, while the Ger Lyons-trained Espere, winner of three of her five starts and a course and distance winner in May, completes the line-up.
