Tank fills King's coffers as 'massive' seven-year-old strikes for small yard
Aengus King only trains a handful of his own horses on the side with his transport business taking up most of his time, so it was all the more fitting that a horse called Fill The Tank got the yard back on track.
You would think that Fill The Tank, who was winning for the first time under rules in the 3m1f handicap chase, was a nod towards King's business.
However the cosy winner, who bridged a gap back to December 2018 to when King last sent out a winner under rules, was christened Fill The Tank for a very different reason.
"He's absolutely massive and when he arrived into the yard one of the boys called him Tank. You would think he was called Fill The Tank after the business, but it's actually to do with his size," King said.
The trainer added: "Although he's very big, I think he just loved the ground. We had a few offers to sell him when he won his point, but nothing major.
"We're in it for a bit of fun, but we haven't been in the winner's enclosure for a while. When you only have a couple of horses it's hard, but hopefully he'll win a few more. He'll definitely win a hurdle."
