Sir Dancealot waltzes to victory for Elsworth as Gustav Klimt fails to fire

It would be hard to come up with a trainer and rider combination more gifted and experienced than David Elsworth and Gerald Mosse, so it should come as no surprise they have combined so successfully with Sir Dancealot this summer.

The four-year-old has always had plenty of talent, but he has never put a run together like the recent one in Mosse's hands, the rider steering him to a third success in four runs with a length-and-a-quarter defeat of frontrunner Dream Of Dreams in the Group 2 Ladyswood Stud Hungerford Stakes. Their only defeat was an honourable fourth in the July Cup.

International riding star Mosse, now domiciled in Newmarket and clearly loving it, has become a big fan of Sir Dancealot and said: "He did exactly what I expected him to.

"Last time [in Goodwood's Lennox Stakes] he was a bit stuck in but still made it because he has the engine.

"Today I didn't want to take any risks. I know he is a really good horse and I didn't want any interference, so I gave him a chance and switched him off. I didn't want to go that early, but it came nice and easy."

Asked if he would be happy returning to six furlongs for the Qipco British Champions Sprint, Mosse said: "For me, six or seven is no problem, but I'm only the pilot."
