There are few things left to achieve for Mark Johnston but winning the St Leger is one of them.
The trainer has been busy breaking more records this season – saddling the most winners in a month in Britain – but admitted he was frustrated at having never won the final Classic of the season at Doncaster.
He hopes Nayef Road can change that after a Gordon Stakes win that persuaded Paddy Power to halve his price to 20-1 for next month’s assignment.
