Allayaali shows Classic bloodlines run strong in debut win for Charlie Hills
Charlie Hills found himself with a lot to look forward to as Allayaali’s debut win reminded him of a horse close to his heart.
The two-year-old filly is a half-sister to Just The Judge, winner of the 2013 Irish 1,000 Guineas to deliver Hills his first Classic success.
Hills said: "We’re delighted. Just The Judge was great to us and it’s so nice to have her half-sister here.
"She shows the same sort of attitude as her sister, very tough and sticks her head out in just the same way."
The daughter of Dark Angel was a €575,000 purchase by Shadwell Estate, taking the opener under Dane O’Neill at 15-2.
A step up to seven furlongs is expected next for the filly, whose connections will be eyeing lucrative prizes on the back of her debut maiden success.
"It’s too soon for Ascot for her but there are a lot of nice races later in the season," Hills added. "I think she’s one to keep an eye on, and will make a lovely three-year-old."
King continues reign
There was another smart performance from Dancing King as he picked up his fourth triumph on the bounce for Mark Johnston.
The three-year-old has won all of his starts this year, continuing his winning streak in the 1m6½f handicap under Franny Norton.
Johnston sent out three of the seven runners for the feature at Doncaster, picking up a 1-2 in the race as favourite Kondo Isami came home second.
