Ron Harris marks Bath's season finale with 91-1 Glamorous double

Pedigree knowledge paid dividends for Ron Harris as he celebrated a thrilling end-of-season double at one of his most profitable tracks.

3-1 shot Glamorous Force claimed the opening 5f handicap under Mark Crehan before it was the turn of his relative Glamorous Express to narrowly take the honours in the novice contest at odds of 22-1.

"We've been lucky here over many years but it was a bit of a shock to get the two winners together," said Harris, whose runners came from the same family that provided Harris with his biggest victories.

"I've followed this family from the days of Glamorous Spirit, who landed the 2010 Sapphire Stakes for me, and then Just Glamorous, who won a Group 3 in Chantilly. I've taken as many of the family as I can – there's only about two I haven't managed to get at the sales.

"The lads who own both horses have backed me all the way and they've got the full sister for next season, which could be exciting."

Going the distance

It was a busy 24 hours for Jack Mitchell, who won the mile handicap aboard Barshaa shortly after a long journey home from Canada.

The jockey finished fourth on the Roger Varian-trained Waliyak in the E.P. Taylor Stakes at Woodbine just 18 hours before striking at Bath.
