Relentless Cabot Cliffs keeps in-form Skelton team among the winners

Cabot Cliffs proved far superior to his six rivals with a dominant performance in the 2m novice hurdle under Harry Skelton.

Running under a double penalty, the four-year-old kept up up a strong gallop to make all from the Nicky Henderson-trained Heross Du Seuil, who trailed home by 17 lengths.

There was an element of groundhog day for owners Craig and Laura Buckingham, who enjoyed success over another Henderson hotpot at Warwick earlier this month when Benny's Oscar got the better of Lecale's Article – who runs in the same Joe Donnelly silks as Heross Du Seuil.

Skelton said: "I really fancied him today and he was very good out there. He's improved through the winter after having a short break and he's going the right way.

"He jumps really well and when the ground dries out I think he should be able to act on that as well."

The winner holds an entry for the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at next month's Cheltenham Festival for which he was trimmed into a general 10-1 shot (from 18) following the win.

Espoir back on form

Espoir De Teillee produced a 25-1 shock in the feature 2m4f handicap chase for trainer Tom George.

The nine-year-old got off the mark over fences at Ludlow in December 2019 but has only run twice since then.

Winning rider Jonathan Burke said: "I've ridden a few Graded horses in my time and I think this a Graded horse."
