More magic from Midnite Bride as progressive filly completes hat-trick

Midnite Bride's winning momentum rolled on from last season as she brought up a hat-trick with an impressive victory in the 7f handicap.

The four-year-old defied top weight to win by an authoritative half-length under Kevin Stott – who also rode her to success at Redcar in October – to complete a three-timer that began at Catterick in September.

Winning trainer Kevin Ryan said: “She did it nicely on her first start of the year. She’s a good, game filly and will probably get a bit further. She’s done everything right.”

Midnite Bride's victory was the tenth of the season for Ryan, who is on a good run at a 21 per cent strike-rate.

He added: “I couldn't be happier with the horses, they're running great. All I can hope for is to keep the horses running well and get as many winners as we can.”

Stott doubled up on the day with a cheeky victory aboard the Phil Kirby-trained Red Force One in the 1m5f handicap.

Double delight

Yorkshire-based trainer Richard Fahey and jockey Paul Hanagan made their mark with victories in the first two races of the track's two-day fixture.

The pair took the opening 5f novice with 4-5 favourite Vintage Clarets before following up with the resurgent Paddy Power in the 6f handicap.
