What they say

William Knight, trainer of Sir Busker
It was either the Group 2 on Friday’s card or the Cambridgeshire. While it’s a big ask under such a big weight, I just felt the Joel Stakes looked a really hard race. A fast-run Cambridgeshire will suit him, and I think he’s got a big chance.

William Haggas, trainer of Montatham and Sinjaari
Montatham will like the ground and is in great form. He should be fine at the trip and is a very genuine sort. He’s got a solid chance. I’m very happy with Sinjaari. He’s been off the track for a bit but goes well fresh.

Marcus Tregoning, trainer of Power Of Darkness
He goes there off a bit of a layoff but is in good order. We think he’s very well. The big field and strong pace will suit him.

Roger Charlton, trainer of Tempus
This has been the aim since the middle of the summer. He's progressed from each race and I think the recent rain will be helpful. He's stepping up a furlong but I thought from the way he finished off at Ascot that would probably suit. Historically, being drawn high is the right place to be, but I thought the better horses were drawn low.

Charlie Fellowes, trainer of King Carney and Tulfarris
King Carney should like the track and any rain would be a plus. On his running with Tempus at Newbury there is not much between the two and he has a weight swing in his favour. Tulfarris could be quite a lively outsider. He won’t mind any cut and the only question mark is the trip. He made a very nice comeback at Ascot and is a well-balanced horse.

Oliver Cole, joint-trainer of Celtic Art and Majestic Dawn
Celtic Art ran very well at Goodwood in July, and didn’t get the trip last time. This is the right distance for him and he’ll go well. Majestic Dawn has been primed for this race for a long time. He got a bit tired on his prep run at Kempton and I think he’ll like the ground.

William Muir, trainer of Data Protection
He's come out of Doncaster really well. You can forget the last race, we went too fast in front. Every time he goes to Newmarket he runs well. It's a very competitive race but we're off 8st 3lb and he's in very good form so we go there with a chance.

Tom Clover, trainer of Balgair
He's come out of his last race really well and it seems stepping up that extra furlong has brought out a bit of improvement. If the ground is on the good side or better then hopefully he'll run a big race.
