Nobody is bothered by the quantity when the quality is this good – this is named after Norton's Coin and is worthy of a Gold Cup winner.

If The Cap Fits is rated the pick of a select field featuring two Grade 1 winners and a Grade 2 scorer with a BHA mark of 162, having won the Aintree Hurdle and two Coral Hurdles.

Harry Fry is looking forward to going chasing with the eight-year-old, who was bought by owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede after Paul and Clare Rooney ended their jumping interests.

"He's been schooling very well and this looks a lovely starting point for him," the trainer said.

"We stayed over hurdles because he was winning very good races but it was a case of now or never to try chasing. He's only an eight-year-old and we're looking forward to starting a new chapter."

Fiddlerontheroof won the Tolworth Hurdle last season and has experience of jumping fences from his point-to-point days.

"We're excited about running him," said trainer Colin Tizzard's son and assistant Joe. "It's only a three-horse race but they're a good three and it will be a lovely start for him.

"He's run in point-to-points, so he's had experience over fences and he's always looked like a chaser. Touch wood, he's been very good at home and he's ready to start."

Rendlesham Hurdle winner Emitom was second on his chasing debut at Uttoxeter and trainer Warren Greatrex said: "My horses have been needing a run a bit and he probably just needed that – he seems in good form.

"The sharpness is probably a bit of an advantage, though he'll be much better when he goes up to three miles.

"This is one of those races where you could finish in any position and not be disappointed because you've probably still got a very nice horse."
