Swamp Fox heads the weights for this 15-runner handicap in which his rivals will include Time For Mabel, who landed the same race a year ago.

Winner of the big amateur riders' handicap on the Flat at last year's Galway festival, Swamp Fox is a versatile performer with three wins over hurdles, the most recent of them over 2m4f at Ballinrobe in May.

The five-year-old's trainer Joe Murphy said on Wednesday: "Swamp Fox has had a little break and is in very good form. He's adaptable in terms of ground and I'm expecting him to run a big race. Barry [Browne] knows him well and his 7lb claim should be a help."

Shark Hanlon is represented by four-time hurdles winner Camlann, the mount of champion conditional Rachael Blackmore. "It looks a good, competitive race and the drop of rain they've had will do hiss chance no harm. He's in good form," Hanlon said.

Tony Martin is two-handed with The Plan Man and Tudor City. Third in a valuable handicap over the course and trip in May on his most recent start over hurdles, The Plan Man had a run on the Flat recently.

Martin said: "He ran a nice race at the Curragh last time and is in good form. He ran very well the last time he went to Killarney, so we're hoping for more of the same.

"We were fancying Tudor City at Bellewstown a few weeks ago, but he made a bad mistake and things didn't work out. If things go better for him, he should give a good account."

A three-time hurdles winner when trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, Moonday Sun will be having his fourth start for Gordon Elliott. An easy winner of a handicap at Punchestown at the end of May, the eight-year-old reverts to handicap company having run fifth in a Grade 3 at Tipperary this month.

"He's in good form and we're looking forward to running him. However, we don't want them to get any more rain," Elliott said.
