Which Cyrname will we get this time? That is the question Paul Nicholls, Harry Cobden, owner Johnny de la Hey and punters up and down Britain will be asking when weighing up the Betfair Ascot Chase.

Cyrname has shown, on his day, he can be brilliant, as he did when showing flagrant disregard for the bigger reputations of Waiting Patiently and stablemate Politologue in this race two years ago, jumping off and never seeing another rival for his breakthrough win in Grade 1 company.

He was equally outstanding when abruptly ending Altior’s unbeaten run of 19 races on his next start, again at Ascot, again pounding the opposition into submission from the front.
