Gear Up
1.50 Newmarket
Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes (Group 2), 1m

The Mark Johnston-trained Gear Up is unbeaten after two victories at York. His tenacious effort in the Acomb Stakes last time just about sets the standard in this line-up.

Stepping up a furlong in trip for the Royal Lodge should suit this brother to the Jim Bolger-trained Guaranteed, who has also scored in Group company and stays a mile and a half.

Key Victory
2.05 Haydock
Close Brothers Handicap, 1m

This five-year-old makes his first appearance on turf in Britain since finishing midfield in the Golden Mile at the 2019 Qatar Goodwood festival after running well twice at Meydan this year.

Racing off a mark of 105, Key Victory has to give lumps of weight to his rivals but is relatively lightly raced for his age and may have a class edge.

Alcohol Free
2.25 Newmarket
Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (Group 1), 6f

A debut scorer at Newbury before giving the reopposing Happy Romance a fright last time, Alcohol Free is worth the utmost respect in the Cheveley Park.

She is entitled to improve again for her Salisbury outing and looks value in relation to Happy Romance, who is shorter in the betting.

Ainsdale
2.40 Haydock
Close Brothers Motor Finance Handicap, 5f

The Karl Burke-trained Ainsdale made rapid progression through the ranks as a juvenile and makes his first start of the season at Haydock.

By Mayson out of a Dutch Art mare, the slight ease in the ground will suit this heavy-going winner and he should prove competitive if fully wound up in his bid for a four-timer.

Method
3.00 Newmarket
Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes (Group 1), 6f

Progeny of Mehmas are well represented in the Middle Park and a strong case can be made for this unbeaten Martyn Meade-trained juvenile.

Method created a strong impression when comfortably beating useful yardstick Mighty Gurkha at Newbury in a Listed race last time and he deserves the step up to Group 1 level. His chance is aided by the assistance of Frankie Dettori in the saddle.

Ace Aussie
3.15 Curragh
Alan Smurfit Memorial Beresford Stakes (Group 2), 1m

Aidan O'Brien has won the last nine runnings of the Beresford Stakes but Ace Aussie is taken to end his dominance for the Jessica Harrington team.

The son of Australia's seven-furlong maiden form ties in closely with National Stakes winner Thunder Moon and Futurity Stakes scorer Mac Swiney. The extra furlong is in his favour and he should go close.

Bell Rock
3.35 Newmarket
bet365 Cambridgeshire Handicap (Heritage Handicap), 1m1f

This four-year-old son of Kingman has won twice on the Rowley Mile and looks tailor-made for the Cambridgeshire.

Thought good enough to run in the St James's Palace Stakes at three, Bell Rock has put up two performances this season to suggest he is ahead of his mark of 103. He could be the perennial Group horse in a handicap.
