Mubakker
1.50 Newcastle
Betfair Backs Racing Welfare Chipchase Stakes (Group 3), 6f

Sir Michael Stoute has his team in fine form, and this lightly raced type bids to make a mark at Group level for the first time.

Mubakker was an impressive winner over course and distance last time, beating a useful yardstick in the process, and although he faces a tougher test against the likes of Brando and Judicial, the colt still has plenty of potential to improve once again.

A winning performance would also continue owner Hamdan Al Maktoum's excellent start to the season.

Boccaccio
2.05 Newmarket
Betway Handicap, 7f

Unbeaten in two starts, this 850,000gns purchase from Tattersalls shaped nicely on his return to action at Kempton last time.

Trainer Charlie Appleby, who has enjoyed a good strike-rate of late, can usually be relied upon to saddle winners at racing's headquarters and he might well uncover another useful sort in this Class 2 handicap.

2.25 Newcastle
Betfair Free Bet Streak Gosforth Park Handicap, 5f

Phillip Makin's runner returned to winning ways at Doncaster last time and is the general second favourite to make it two wins in a row.

He seemed in better heart when holding off Jabbarockie, and is handily drawn in stall five. The six-year-old runs off a career-high mark but is unexposed at the minimum trip.

Limato
2.40 Newmarket
Betway Criterion Stakes (Group 3), 7f

The hugely popular Limato returns to defend his win from last year at the ripe age of eight.

Now a stalwart of the Henry Candy yard, he is partnered by Adam Kirby for the first time on what will be his 32nd career run. Sir Dancealot and Happy Power are among his eight rivals, but another bold showing looks on the cards.

Aloe Vera
3.00 Newcastle
Betfair Exchange Hoppings Fillies' Stakes (Group 3), 1m2f

The daughter of Invincible Spirit makes her first start in over a year having last been seen running away with a Listed contest at Goodwood.

Trained by Ralph Beckett, who has trained his fair share of top-class fillies, the four-year-old has plenty of scope to improve against more exposed rivals in Look Around and Nkosikazi.

Thunderous
3.15 Newmarket
Betway Fairway Stakes (Listed), 1m2f

Night Of Thunder's runners continue to impress and he could well have another classy performer in the Mark Johnston-trained Thunderous.

Unbeaten in three starts last term, including in the Listed Denford Stakes, he looks versatile in terms of ground and has the services of the in-form Ryan Moore to boot.

Australis
3.35 Newcastle
Betfair Northumberland Plate, 2m½f

Roger Varian's gelding arrives off the back of a cosy Wolverhampton success earlier this month and, given his trainer's form, could double up in this prestigious staying contest.

While drawn in stall 12, Australis still looks on the improve having produced a career-best effort last time. However, he'll need to be at his best against the likes of the talented Rainbow Dreamer, Collide and Cosmelli.
