ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the nine races on ITV on Saturday
1.55 Ayr
Virgin Bet Doonside Cup Stakes (Listed), 1m2f
Juan Elcano found Group 1 level a bit too hot in the Juddmonte International last time and takes a considerable drop down in level. The last time he raced in Listed company he won the Wolferton at Royal Ascot. This will be no easy return though with Euchen Glen and Maydanny in the line-up.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: JUAN ELCANO
Flying too high in York Group 1 latest but this Royal Ascot winner is a big player here
2.15 Newbury
Dubai International Airport World Trophy Stakes (Group 3), 5f
Hurricane Ivor looked like a Group horse in a handicap when winning the Portland and takes that step up in grade just seven days on. Khaadem appeared well suited to this distance when winning last time out and Tis Marvellous is going for a hat-trick.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HURRICANE IVOR
Personal best when winning Portland at Doncaster last week; may well follow up
2.30 Ayr
Virgin Bet Ayr Silver Cup Handicap, 6f
Magical Spirit was an impressive winner of this contest 12 months ago and comes here following a close third at Ascot. Blackrod has been a rapid improver this season and looks the main danger while
Bergerac, Woven and Royal Scimitar are also threats.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: BICKERSTAFFE
Lightly raced 3yo; impressive at Ascot in July and had an excuse last time; more to come
Graeme Rodway's banker at Ayr on Saturday
Dubai Duty Free Legacy Cup Stakes (Group 3), 1m3f
Al Aasy has been gelded since his latest defeat at Newmarket and returns to Newbury, where he has already recorded two impressive wins. Foxes Tales and Solid Stone arrive here on the back of victories.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: AL AASY
Two Group 3 wins here this spring and holds leading claims under a 3lb penalty
Virgin Bet Firth Of Clyde Fillies' Stakes (Group 3), 6f
Ger Lyons has had a winner, second and third among the eight Flat runners he has sent to Ayr and the unbeaten Head Mistress could improve that record. She looked smart when landing a Listed contest at the Curragh last time. Easy debut winner Hala Hala Athmani is an exciting prospect.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HEAD MISTRESS
Irish filly who is 2-2 and commands respect with further improvement on the cards
3.25 Newbury
Dubai Duty Free Handicap, 1m2f
Aramaic caught many an eye when scoring at York at the start of the month and takes on plenty of other progressive types. Mo'assess has already beaten Aramaic so is feared while King Leonidas makes his first start since being a beaten favourite in last year's Jersey Stakes.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: ARAMAIC
Won in good style on handicap debut at York and could have plenty more to offer
The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday
Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup Handicap, 6f
Five runners come to this lucrative handicap off the back of wins last time, most notably Commanche Falls who has not been seen since landing the Stewards' Cup at Glorious Goodwood. He looks to be to first to win both the big sprints in the same season in 25 years. Ed Walker has two top chances with Great Ambassador and Popmaster while Just Frank was impressive at Thirsk last time.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: OSTILIO
Classy form in the past; shaped nicely over inadequate 5f for this yard; well treated now
4.00 Newbury
Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes (Group 2), 6f
A third-place finish to Native Trail in the Superlative Stakes looks strong form after last Sunday's result so Dhabab is interesting on just his fourth start. Gimcrack second Gis A Sub and Super Sprint winner Gubbass also feature.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: GUBBASS
Won the Super Sprint here in July; good efforts in the Richmond and Morny since; respected
4.15 Ayr
Virgin Bet Handicap, 1m
David O'Meara won this handicap in 2018 and 2019 and trained the third last season so perhaps the consistent Shelir could have a change of luck having been a runner-up five times this season.
Cruyff Turn sets the standard on the form of his victory at the Ebor festival.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HONG KONG HARRY
Low-mileage 4yo with strike-rate of 4-6; today's extra yardage likely to suit; big chance
Saturday's free racing tips: six horses to consider putting in your multiples
