A pretty intriguing affair in which most of the interest revolves around the top two in the handicap, with Grade 3-winning Triumph Hurdle sixth Cerberus locking horns with high-class Adonis Hurdle runner-up Fujimoto Flyer.

The former, trained by Joseph O'Brien, blew away the cobwebs on the Flat at Navan earlier this month, a run that caught the attention of the stewards, and is entitled to be in the thick of things on the basis of last season's form.

The Emmet Mullins-trained opponent hasn't been seen since chasing home Solo at Kempton in February, but with natural physical progression both have the potential to be fairly well treated off their respective marks of 138 and 134.

Yafordadoe has been in sparkling form this summer and must have a major say if continuing his progression, for all that he's 17lb higher than his latest ridiculously easy win at Ballinrobe.

John McConnell won this race in 2014 with Orgilgo Bay and he trains Anna Bunina, who arrives here seeking a hat-trick after smart wins at Cork and Sligo.

Ray Cody is another trainer hoping history can repeat itself, sending out the capable Guinevere in search of back-to-back wins in the race after Razoul's victory 12 months ago.

Don't be surprised if she leaves behind a couple of below-par efforts in first-time blinkers.

Saint D'oroux, trained by Gordon Elliott, was behind Guinevere at the Galway festival but gives the impression he could take another step forward here, while Red Gerry, one of three runners for Noel Meade, got his hurdles career back on track at Punchestown earlier this month.

He could easily have a major role to play if bringing his very best to the table.

What they say

Emmet Mullins, trainer of Fujimoto Flyer and Marmolata
It's good to get Fujimoto Flyer back going again. The Lartigue is a big race and it was always the plan for her to come here since she arrived back in. Naturally you'd hope she'll come on for the run but she's ready to start back so hopefully she can run well. When Marmolata was able to get into the race we felt we'd let her take her chance and you never know, she might outrun her odds.

John McConnell, trainer of Anna Bunina
She was good the last twice and we've given her a nice break with this race in mind. Simon [Torrens] claims 5lb and that's a help off her weight. She's got a bit of class and if she got a bit of luck in running hopefully she could be involved.

Gavin Cromwell, trainer of Yafordadoe
He's done well this summer but he's taking a big step forward in class now. He won a moderate maiden hurdle at Cork and probably looked well in last time at Ballinrobe. The handicapper has had his say [raised 17lb] but the horse is in good form and hopefully he can be competitive.

Ray Cody, trainer of Guinevere
We're very happy with her and we'll be trying her in blinkers for the first time. I don't know if she was completely concentrating the last twice so hopefully it might help her. She won well at Galwayand off bottom weight, I'd be hoping she can be very competitive.
