Snowfall could start one of the shortest-priced favourites for a British or Irish Classic this century when she contests the Group 1 Juddmonte Irish Oaks (3.25) at the Curragh.

A magnificent 16-length winner of the Epsom equivalent last month when she annihilated Mystery Angel and company under Frankie Dettori, the daughter of Deep Impact is expected to be sent off at around 1-4 in her bid for a famous double.

Since 1988 there have been 21 runners in British or Irish Classics who started 1-2 or less. Fifteen of those were successful, including the Aidan O'Brien-trained Australia, who landed the 2014 Irish Derby at the prohibitive price of 1-8.
