This has not been a memorable event for punters in recent years, epitomised by the 14-1 shock of Solage last year, and no favourite has managed to oblige since the race was first run in 2015.

It looks a terribly tricky puzzle to solve this time around too, but the obvious place to start is with the Jessica Harrington-trained Barrington Court who has turned inside out since switching hurdles for the Flat.

The six-year-old daughter of Mastercraftsman is rated only 124 over hurdles but she is the joint highest rated in this line-up with a mark of 105 after chasing home subsequent Cadran heroine Princess Zoe at Galway, then pushing the classy Dawn Patrol all the way to the line in a Group 3 at the Curragh last time.

She should produce another bold display under Shane Foley, but might do well to confirm recent Curragh form with Mighty Blue.

Joseph O'Brien's French recruit met trouble in running there, and the 2m trip may have stretched her stamina, so running over half a mile shorter looks sure to play to her strengths.

She is one of three runners for O'Brien, as Snapraeceps and Sagrada Familia join her in the line-up, but Mighty Blue would appear to be his strongest chance of success.

The Oaks runner-up Ennistymon is in here too, and on her early-season form would be the one to beat. But she arrives after a tame effort at Gowran Park and Seamie Heffernan prefers Elizabethofaragon.

This could develop into a duel between Barrington Court and Mighty Blue, with preference for the last-named over this trip.

What they say

Jessica Harrington, trainer of Barrington Court
I'm excited! She'll love the ground and the trip, and she's in mighty form at home.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Mighty Blue, Snapraeceps and Sagrada Familia
Mighty Blue is in very good shape at home. She's had a very good season and managed to get some black type for her last time. Now we're trying to win a stakes race with her if possible. Snapraeceps is a very consistent filly and we'd like to win a stakes race with her too at some stage. Sagrada Familia is a well-bred filly and we'd like to get some black type for her. Hopefully, she can run a good race.

Matthew Smith, trainer of Starlight Dream
She's a nice filly who showed a good attitude when winning at Cork and has been in good form since. It's a hot race, but hopefully she can run well.
