The Briefing: going news, market movers and punting pointers
After a frenetic weekend of racing, Monday's fare represents somewhat of a calming-down process but there are still three meetings to dissect, all tinged with bits of quality.
The four-runner 2m4f novice handicap chase (1.00) is part of the bonus series Plumpton offer and features on the seven-race card at the picturesque Sussex course, while the chasing debut of Fred Winter runner-up Style De Garde (1.45) could prove to be of most interest on the card at Hereford.
The most valuable race of the day is at Kempton, where a seven-race all-weather card takes place in the evening. A total of 13 horses are set to go to post for the £75,000 32Red London Middle Distance Series Final Handicap (6.00).
The Hughie Morrison-trained Buzz, fifth in the ferociously competitive November Handicap at Doncaster, will bid to score a fourth win on the Polytrack at Kempton.
Off the track, the five-day forfeits for the Betfair Chase will be released, with last season's Cheltenham Gold Cup one-two Native River and Might Bite expected to be among them.
