Enable is a nigh-on bombproof. Ever since she was seemingly outclassed by Shutter Speed at Newbury I felt she was beating below-par horses, but she proved that was not the case in the King George.

Even though we saw again that more than 80 per cent of horses hate cut in the ground and that the only other mudlover in the race, Jack Hobbs, appears not to have got over his injury at Newmarket in 2016, Enable proved she is sheer class.

Much was against the filly – she won the Irish Oaks only 13 days previously; she was already having her fifth race of the season; she was taking on the colts, etc.
