Covid-19 isn't going away any time soon - so it's right that we carry on racing

It's a sensitive issue but Leicester proceeding with its race meeting on Tuesday after the city was identified as a coronavirus hotspot was probably the right thing to do.

Clearly some trainers and stalls handlers were uncomfortable with the notion of carrying on regardless while the majority of schools and businesses in the locality were faced with being thrust back into lockdown.

In the current climate, conscientiously objecting is hardly going to be frowned upon, with even the BHA acknowledging as much by deciding not to fine trainers for making late withdrawals.
