Simon Pearce builds on family dynasty after taking over reins from mother Lydia
Simon Pearce: taking over the family yard at the foot of Warren Hill, Newmarket
Simon Pearce will extend a family dynasty when he takes over the reins from his mother Lydia at Wroughton House Stables this week.
The former jockey, who rode 96 winners before quitting the saddle last year, will also be following on from his father Jeff, who trained from the 44-box property until 2011.
Pearce, 33, took his BHA modules while he was injured a few years ago, and is finally ready to start his new career with a string of about 20.
