There is an increasing danger of becoming both the Post's Kalashnikov correspondent and Amy Murphy's stalker but the quality of the AK-47's Betfair Hurdle victory should not be underestimated.

However, at a general 8-1 for the Supreme, the bookmakers are doing just that for the simple reason Amy's surname is not Mullins, Henderson or Nicholls.

Kalashnikov won off a mark of 141 on Saturday and he will go up at least 12lb in the ratings – quite possibly 14lb. Let's be conservative and settle for 12, which would put him on 153. That is more than in the mix, it is on the front step poised to kick the door in.
