Kempton has been reprieved for now - but just how much do you really care?

Do you really care about Kempton? Would you prostrate yourself in chains like Nicky Henderson if the diggers rolled in tomorrow? Did you whoop with joy unconfined when it was granted something of a reprieve from the developers last week?

You made some of the right noises, said that it was tantamount to scandal that an institution as august as the Jockey Club should even have contemplated sacrificing one of its premier courses in the first place. You rightly lavished praise on the excellent chase track, the good ground, the memorable years of Desert Orchid and Kauto Star. You mentioned how important it was for racing to maintain its place in a densely populated corner of suburban London. And you were on the money every time.

But do you really care? I only ask because there was a pretty decent jumps card at Kempton last Friday and none of you appeared to be there.
