Altior saga again puts focus on those who seek to profit from inside information

On the corresponding Saturday in 2018 Nicky Henderson was not at Kempton celebrating success in the Lanzarote Hurdle but in Scotland, where he married Sophie Waddilove. Two years on and Henderson was very much present at Kempton to witness another Lanzarote success. How he must have yearned to be back in Scotland.

The problem was not Kempton, where one of the track's most passionate supporters completed a double. Henderson's lack of joie de vivre was due to what had taken place over the previous days and the inevitable need to once again discuss Altiorgate.

When he did talk the plot was made to look ever more interesting.
