Former sports minister Sutcliffe enjoys winning feeling as an owner
Former sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe has been involved in racing in many guises and he became a winning owner for the first time after Dawn Breaking got off the mark at the second attempt in the 6f novice auction stakes.
Earlier in the year, Sutcliffe renewed the ties with the sport he forged as Minister for Sport in the Labour government from 2007 until 2010 when he was elected chairman of the Northern Racing College.
Having stood down as MP for Bradford South at the 2015 general election following 11 years in the role, the 64-year-old has found the time to enter into ownership with a group of friends.
