Robin Dickin is set to appeal the decision of the stewards to demote Oneida Tribe to second after a dead-heat was initially called in an incident-packed running of the 2m4½f novice handicap chase.

After the Adrian Heskin-ridden Oneida Tribe had flashed past the post in tandem with Pinch Of Ginger, the mount of Brian Hughes, there was a long wait until a dead-heat was finally announced, but moments later a stewards' inquiry was called into possible interference between the first two home.

The stewards found Hughes was forced to switch Pinch Of Ginger after being carried off his intended line by Oneida Tribe drifting right when insufficiently clear and awarded the race outright to Pinch Of Ginger.
