Danny Tudhope hails relationship with Haggas following glorious Royal Ascot
Danny Tudhope, who rode four winners from ten rides at Royal Ascot, hailed his relationship with trainer William Haggas that has made the pair a dream team for punters in 2019.
The big-race successes of Addeybb in the Wolferton Stakes and Move Swiftly in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes confirmed the Newmarket trainer one of the jockey's most potent supporters, with the two operating at an astounding 65 per cent strike-rate this season. Tudhope has won on 15 of his 23 rides for Haggas this year, returning a £31.86 profit to a £1 level stake.
Tudhope, who also won the Queen Anne and Jersey Stakes in a memorable week, said on Sunday: "I've ridden for him for the last couple of years, our strike-rate together is very good.
"He's a very good trainer with lots of nice horses, it's a powerful yard and he's a master at what he does. He'll tell you exactly what a horse is like and won't tie you down to instructions too much.
"The one thing he does is know his horses inside out. He could tell you everything about them, which gives you confidence as a rider."
Tudhope got off to a flying start in the first race on Tuesday when he partnered Lord Glitters to win for David O'Meara, for whom he has ridden more than any other trainer.

While the Wolferton and Duke of Cambridge winners highlighted the Haggas and Tudhope alliance at the top level, the rider's Royal Ascot week itinerary also included Kempton, Newmarket and Ripon.
With no rides booked at Ascot, Tudhope headed north on Thursday to partner the Haggas-trained Faylaq to victory in the 1m4f handicap for three-year-olds.
Space Traveller's 25-1 victory in the Jersey Stakes took Tudhope to 41 winners for the season with just Oisin Murphy in front of him in the table, but the title is not his first priority.
"Not at the minute, I'm not going all out for it." he said. "What will be will be and usually you know what sort of chance you have in July, so we'll see then, but I'm not going everywhere and chasing every winner."
He added: "I have a good job, [Clipper Logistics] Steve Parkin is brilliant to work for and I get the best of both worlds as if I want to ride one for William, I can. I'm just really enjoying it at the minute."
Tudhope is particularly looking forward to partnering Move Swiftly again if circumstances allow. The jockey believes the lightly raced four-year-old, who stuck on gamely to deny Rawdaa by a neck, has plenty more to offer.
"I'm not sure if I'll be riding her next, but I think she can improve. She has an entry in the Pretty Polly, but that's over a mile and a quarter so I doubt she'll turn up there. I think she'll stick to a mile."
